The Russell Peninsula has many walking tracks of varying lengths and difficulty and is one of the best ways to take in the stunning scenery. You will be spoilt for choice.  Some tracks you can access straight from the holiday park, others in Russell and there are also many more in the wider Bay of Islands a short drive from Russell. 

The Russell – Orongo Bay Holiday Park is an ideal location for walking groups. 

Accommodation options

The Lodge is perfect for large groups and has capacity for up to 60 people. Lodge rooms are relatively roomy with sliding glass doors which lead onto a good sized deck for outdoor living. With a cosy log fire and plenty of BBQ areas for socialising it’s the perfect venue summer or winter. 

For smaller groups there are also a number of cabins available. And there are plenty of campsites for the more adventurous.
