Park Facilities 

Swimming Pool – popular with all ages to cool off in Russell’s warm and sunny climate. Open from Labour weekend to May inclusive. 

Playground – swing, climb, slide and just generally have lots of fun.  Recommended for children up to 14 years. 

WI-FI available.  First 100mb free on request.    

Camp Shop – stocks basic groceries as well as ice cream, ice, bait, toiletries and basic camping essentials. Milk and Bread available at peak times.  The camp shop opening hours are: 8am to 8pm at Peak periods, e.g. labour weekend, Summer and Easter and 9am to 6pm at all other times.  Check out the opening times on the reception door.

Curious Kiwi Café – offers a range of simple but tasty classics including local coffee from Tohora Trading Comuffinspaninis & burgersOpen 7am to 11am and 5pm to 9pm daily on Public Holidays and 26 December through to end of January.

Lodge TV Lounge – relax in the Lodge lounge equipped with a 42inch TV and large stone log fire. 

Kiwi trail – Explore our Kiwi trail, cut within acres of native bush at the rear of our Park and if you venture the trail at night you might be lucky enough to see a kiwi in the wild! But you will regularly hear the distinctive call of the kiwi at night. 

Trip and Tour Bookings – explore the beautiful Bay of Islands, including heritage sites, marine parks, art and culture and an unspoiled natural environment. We can help you plan your travel itinerary, share our local knowledge and make trip and tour bookings for you at the reception. 

Dogs– We are a dog friendly holiday park, and we encourage you to bring your four legged friend/s on holiday with you. By prior arrangement only and excludes bookings from 20 December to 7 January. 

Parking – All sites come with a single carpark. Boat parking is available by arrangement. Coach, bus and truck parking by arrangement. 

Boat wash – We have a dedicated boat washing area. Please be mindful when using this facility that we are on tank water and like to conserve water as much as possible. 

 

Kitchen, Dining & BBQ’s 

The Lodge kitchen, lounge & dining – fully functioning kitchen with a full stove, microwave, fridge and freezer leading into a large lounge and dining room space.  (Available to all when not booked exclusively by a group).  

Campers kitchen, covered dining – set amongst the powered sites in the centre of the holiday park.  

Smokehouse and fish cleaning  perfect for preparing and cooking your ‘catch of the day!’ 

Wood Fire Pizza Oven – It’s hard to beat the taste of a wood fired pizza so have a go at making your own (instructions provided if required). 

BBQ area – Enjoy a ‘good ole’ kiwi BBQ. Includes covered outdoor dining space with picnic tables and both gas and wood barbecues (wood provided). 

Campfire – an authentic camping experience socialising and enjoying time with friends and family sitting around the outdoor campfire (subject to fire bans). Toast some marshmallows, look out for the Kiwi and gaze at the stars. 

Laundry & Bathrooms 

Laundry  open from 8am to 8pm and we have both coin and token operated washing machines and dryers. 

Bathrooms – toilet and shower blocks located in the Lodge and the centre of the holiday park. To conserve water all shower blocks have coin operated showers. 

Linen – Additional linen, towels, duvets, sheets etc can be hired from the reception. 

Things to keep the kids entertained 

The whole park is an adventure playground as well as the swimming pool and playground here are some other great activities for the kids if you start hearing ‘I’m bored!’

  • Net fishing in the stream – nets available for purchase at the shop. 
  • Bush walks including our very own kiwi trail at the back of the holiday park 
  • Birdlife – How many can you spot? 
  • Visiting the eels in the pond 
  • Full circle walk, opposite the holiday park

  • Sport on grassed areas.  You can find a selection of things for purchase at the shop such as as cricket sets and frisbees.
  • Visit Oneroa Beach (Long beach) – buckets and spades available for purchase at the shop 
  • Sweet treat/ice cream at the shop 
  • On rainy days if you stuck for something to do check out the shop for a selection of things available for purchase
