Encounter the wildlife and see the rare brown kiwi, weka and pateke/brown teal duck that roam the park freely along with up to 55 species of native birds amongst 14 acres of native bush surrounding the park.

Explore our kiwi trail, gently cut within acres of native bush at the rear of our park orbook our kiwi tour for a chance to see kiwi in the wild.

Experience the magnificent night sky made possible with limited light pollution in the area. Check out the big eels in our pond, our cave weta staying in their hotel and another favourite of ours the beautiful Californian Quail that wander around. 

We are proud to be predator free and have invested in actively ridding the park of the most damaging introduced predators that threaten our nation’s natural taonga, abundant native wildlife and forests. 

Stay with us and a portion of what you pay is used to restore habitat and ongoing plant and animal pest control within the holiday park.  

Amateur and professional photographers come from around New Zealand and further afar to photograph our birdlife and the BBC have spent time filming our cheeky Weka for a documentary (Earth’s mythical Islands).
