Give your students a hands-on environmental learning experience with Whitebait Connection—an action-based programme that connects schools with the health of streams, rivers, and wetlands.
What’s Included?
During a 1 – 1.5 hour field trip, students will:
🐟 Assess stream habitats and learn what makes a healthy waterway.
🦠 Survey macroinvertebrates to understand water quality.
🎣 Identify fish and aquatic species as real citizen scientists.
For Northland schools: They also offer two in-class educational sessions before your field trip.

This opportunity is FREE for school groups that book before June 2025, thanks to secured funding! After June, it’s still affordable at an estimated $5 per student (dependent on the number of students, the location and the time of the session).
