It was so amazing to see a kiwi, a life changing experience for us! Beautiful area! Amazing wildlife, I adore birds and I appreciate all the mahi that goes into keeping the grounds bird friendly.

We were so thrilled to see a kiwi right by our van in the middle of the night, we watched him for about 20mins, rustling around grunting looking for bugs. First time seeing kiwi in the wild. Made our weekend! Thanks so much

Nice enough rooms, good value. The best part is the location… Great board walk through the mangroves, spotted two kiwis in holiday park and amazing clear night sky.

Awesome place to go and take your whanau, Great for kids, Good atmosphere, We saw three kiwi out…The place is clean and the pool is on point…Im not one to stay in the pool long…OMG that pool is perfect.

Beautiful and peaceful place!
Incredible atmosphere and beautiful people all around. All you need you will find it in the kitchen and hot showers if you want to. We are happy to say: WE SAW KIWIS!
There are so many to hear. It’s worth it! 🤩 Make sure you take red or green flashlights with you.

Russell – Orongo Bay Holiday Park is the most amazing place, you have the best of all worlds here – native bush all around, a beautiful town and amazing beaches you have to see to believe. The staff were very helpful from phone calls to emails. We can’t wait to come next year. 

Russell – Orongo Bay Holiday Park has a relaxed atmosphere and the facilities are well maintained. We were happy to extend our stay. Having stayed at branded campsites, we found we preferred the more laid back approach here and felt far more comfortable and less restricted. 

We would recommend this campsite to anyone. It is peaceful, clean, well equipped and has great facilities to keep the kids entertained (pools, playground, swings, baby ducks…). We will be back, and with friends.
